Drill Hall, Horsham
We are currently working with a local church organisation on the refurbishment and conversion of a 1920's military Drill Hall in central Horsham.
'The Drill Hall' is a much loved local landmark. We were invited to assist the church in developing their brief and vision for the building both as their own meeting hall and office hub, and as a high quality arts venue that would continue to serve the local community for many years to come.
Initial proposals include a sensitive restoration and modernisation of the main space including architecturally coordinated acoustic treatment and services. Rooflights are proposed to provide natural ventilation and increased daylight, while enhancing the architectural quality of the space.
Supporting spaces will be remodelled to provide conference and small scale meeting facilities. The design also includes offices, a new accessible entrance, open plan foyer space, green room suite, re-heat kitchen, and media facilities.
Low carbon technologies are proposed as sustainability enhancements to the building.
